Established in 1979, Alpenglow Sports is Lake Tahoe's original mountain shop. Specializing in backcountry and Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, trail running, backpacking, hiking, camping, and the mountain lifestyle, Alpenglow is always psyched to offer premier user-based customer service. 

Alpenglow was originally owned by Don Fyfe but purchased by Brendan Madigan in 2011. After working at Alpenglow for nearly 10 years under Fyfe’s tutelage, Madigan was sufficiently manicured to take over the reins of one of California’s most core mountain shops. Before Alpenglow, Madigan managed Outdoor Adventures in Fredericksburg, Virginia. However, after a year of deep backcountry powder and world-class trail running in Tahoe, the path was paved for permanent adventure in North America’s hottest outdoor recreation destination.
