I was born in Philadelphia Pa May 30, 1956. I graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Economics in 1978. I have worked in the ski industry in many capacities since 1979, with long stints with McB Sports, K2, Raichle, Fischer, Blizzard, and continuing with Dalbello, Elan, Leki, Transpack, Hotronic, Boot Doc and Screamer Hats. My first job in the ski industry was at the Mogul Ski Shop in downtown Philadelphia during high school.

When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be in the snow. My brothers and I would walk miles with our sleds in hand to the closest hill. It wasn't until I was 12 years old that I rode my first snowboard. I fell in love with it instantly and the next year my Mom bought me one for Christmas. From then on, I would spend 100+ days a year at my local resort aka my second home in Michigan, Nub's Nob.

I started snowboarding in 1987 and after the first turn, I knew I wanted to somehow be involved in the snow sports industry.  I moved to Minneapolis and started working part time at Hoigaard’s selling winter sports equipment.  That opportunity turned into a full-time sales position in the ski/snowboard department where I also worked custom fitting ski boots.  Finally, I became the snowboard buyer for Hoigaard’s.

I grew up in the Ford Sayre ski program in Hanover NH.  During High School I raced for Hanover High & Franconia Ski Club.   I also worked very part time with Jack Henderson at Carroll Reed Ski Shop, now owner of Henderson Ski Systems in Quechee VT - his laughter and spirit got me energized about the ski business.

After graduating college 1982 and spending the winter in Aspen, I moved to Denver to pursue a sales job in the ski industry. I started with Gerry Ski Wear located Denver 1983 as s Sales Coordinator- inside sales rep training position. Having my heart set on hard goods, moved to New England in the fall of 1983 to represent Dynamic Skis. In 1984 I took a sales rep position for Atomic and have not looked back since!

I grew up in Maine, skiing the Camden Snowbowl and Sugarloaf before driving out west in the early 70's, skiing all over, and falling in love with Sun Valley. We moved to Sun Valley in 1975 and I got my first taste of the ski business in 1979, when I started working locally with PRE skis, first tuning and hosting on-snow demos at Sun Valley, and then traveling to industry demos around the West.
