As fall rolls in, SIA is thinking SNOW and looking ahead to SIA Sourcing Snow (January 30 - February 1), the 2013 SIA Snow Show (January 31- February 3) and On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest (February 4 & 5) in Colorado. REGISTER NOW!

Member-owned, inspired and dedicated exclusively to snow sports, the SIA Snow Show is the industry’s largest, global annual gathering. It’s where the most influential and visionary brands connect with leading retailers and resorts to unveil innovations, exchange ideas and build solid relationships that will shape your business and the industry.

Jamile Lavalle"The SIA Snow Show is the highlight of the winter! All the great people who make up the world of snow sports are in same place for a few days. The Show creates great opportunities for retailers and reps to see each other as well as the exciting, new products that are on the horizon. It's a week that everyone should look forward to every year!" - Jamie Lavalle, CA/NV Regional Promotions Manager, Marker/Volkl USA

Some returning events/features are on the docket for the 2013 Snow Show including the Snow Fashion & Trends Show (New Night: Wednesday, January 30- the night before the Show opens), BlueBird Social Lounge, Backcountry Experience, Digital Sneak Peak, Shmooza Palooza, Rental World/Backshop & Uniform, the Reclaim Project, and more. Stay tuned for details on other new and returning events and the Seminar lineup. For updates and Snow Show information, visit siasnowshow.com.

Bob Olson“I don’t see how you can be successful in today’s snow sports retail climate and not be at the SIA Snow Show. It’s hands down the best show for seeing all of next year’s skis, snowboards, accessories and apparel. You can meet with company principals, including sales, credit, marketing and customer service managers, and even touch base with fellow retailers. Since we all work closely in this industry, it’s rewarding and helpful to know these people.” - Bob Olson, Owner, Viking Ski Shop, Chicago, IL

This year, SIA will present a trade show entitled Sourcing Snow, showcasing the industry’s textile and material suppliers. In-conjunction with the 2013 SIA Snow Show, Sourcing Snow will be held in the Colorado Convention Center’s Mile High Ballroom from January 30 - February 1, 2013. Sourcing Snow includes exhibitors from performance textiles, insulation, zippers/closure systems, straps/webbing and other components, providing the ideal environment to interact with the entire snow sports industry. Exhibitor owned and operated, Sourcing Snow will present snow sports’ top component manufacturers.

Julie GarrySourcing Snow will add an element to the Snow Show that really has been missing. Manufacturers, designers and purchasing departments will now be able to make the most of their time in Denver and connect with their suppliers.” - Julie Garry, SIA Board Member and CEO of AFRC-Outdoor Gear

SIA’s On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest returns again, February 4 & 5, at Winter Park Resort in-conjunction with the Western Winter Sports Reps Association’s (WWSRA) Rocky Mountain Demo.

The Nordic Demo will be held February 4* at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in partnership with Cross Country Ski Areas Association (CCSAA). *New this year, the Nordic Demo is one day, Monday, February 4.

Bob Carlson“I have always felt the SIA Snow Show is important because it allows retailers to easily compare everything being offered for snowboarding by all the brands. With the economy driving retailers to narrow their offering down to the absolute best-selling gear, it has never been more important for buyers to understand what product is standing out and how brands are differentiating themselves. SIA is really the only place to do this.”- Bob Carlson, Founder, Arbor Snowboards

John MarshallCheckout RipTank Boardshop’s Top 5 reasons for attending the SIA Snow Show and On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest!

  1. We love being able to speak to the reps face-to-face. We do not get any rep traffic in West Texas, so it is great to get to learn about the products from the experts themselves.
  1. It is also great to see all the small inventor type vendors that have some innovative, yet unusual products.
  1. The On-Snow Demo is priceless! Having the opportunity to ride 4 or 5 different setups back to back in a single day really opens your eyes to the features and benefits of each. The Demo is also a great time to find out which products are all hype and which products actually perform.
  1. We go to the Show to get product training and reinforce our positioning in our local market as the experts. We have to ride all the gear we are selling or else we are just full of hot air.
  1. The Show is the only trade show where you can learn about every piece of gear and then actually test the sales reps claims the very next day! This experience is incredible and not reproduced anywhere in action sports!
