SHOW CHECK-IN: SHOP TALK WITH DAVID WOLFGANG OF PINNACLE SPORTS
David WolfgangSIA: What do you look forward to the most about coming to the Show?

DW: It’s a great opportunity to see the newest product, talk with companies directly about their lines, and meet face to face with them. It’s the best way to see what’s new out there.

SIA: Outside of Show hours, what do you like to do while you’re in Denver?

DW: We always try to take a few days before the Show to enjoy the area. Two years ago we went cross country skiing at Rocky Mountain National Park, and last year we tested out some new product at Vail. We like to take advantage of being in that great location and have some fun.

Pinnacle Ski & SportsSIA: Any other trips you’ve got planned for the upcoming season?

DW: My son is going off to college next year, so we’ll be taking our last family ski vacation with children living at home. We’re going to Jackson Hole, and my oldest daughter is surprising him by joining us. We can’t wait.

SIA: Anything specific you’re excited about for Pinnacle this season?

DW: After last year’s terrible snow, we’re really looking forward to some great snow, great crowds, and great sales.

SIA: One last thing – please fill in the blank: “When I’m out on the hill for the day I can’t live without . . .”

DW: I’m not sure what I can’t live without, but I’ll tell you what I can’t live with. My phone! I lock it in the car and leave it behind so I can enjoy being out there for a great ski day.
