Chaos Announces Headwear Fundraiser to Benefit SOS

Day Two of the SIA SnowShow’s discounted Chaos hats revenue will benefit SOS
Denver, Colorado SIA SnowShow, January 31st – February 3rd , 2013

SIA Booth #2423
Steamboat Springs, CO (December 20, 2012) -- To celebrate Chaos Hats’ select sponsor programs, Chaos will sell discounted hip, cool beanies at the SIA booth #2423, January 27, the second day of the show. Proceeds of the day’s collections will be donated to Colorado-based SOS Outreach.

Visit the Chaos Headwear Booth #2423 at the Denver, Colorado SIA SnowShow,  January 31st – February 3rd , 2013, to purchase hats where it makes a difference.

As a long-time supporter of SOS programs, Chaos hopes to add more exposure and a few extra dollars to the organization’s extensive goals. SOS Outreach is a national youth development non-profit which utilizes adventure sports to engage at-risk students in long-term mentorship relationships. This year marks the 19th season with the largest amount of students to date! Over 5,200 youth will be served in this mentor program with five offices and programs at 35 ski resorts in the United States.

The SOS curriculum encourages responsibility, self-confidence, service, and leadership skills by instilling five core values:  courage, discipline, integrity, wisdom, and compassion, all while learning to ride! Participants come from a variety of backgrounds, including failing grades, low-income households, single-parent families or English as a second language. SOS mentors provide positive role models and encouragement these kids might not get anywhere else. SOS has a life long impact on the mentors and the students. One SOS student exclaimed “I now have a concrete idea of my short and long-term goals and how I can achieve them. SOS has given me a family outside of my home and valuable support group that I can rely on. I’ve also learned to push myself to limits I never dared approach before. This perseverance is evident not only in my snowboarding but in my academics and personal life as well. SOS has inspired me to be a great leader in my community to seek leadership opportunities and to take ownership of my actions.”

All of this positive change is made possible through the support of community members who step up to be mentors and through the generosity of mountain partnerships. Program Director Mikayla Curtis explains that “without the support we receive from corporations throughout the industry, including Chaos Hats, and the community, this level of impact wouldn’t happen.” Every winter it is incredible to watch the community come together as kids meet their volunteer instructors and mentors on the slopes with passes donated by Vail Resorts and other mountains nationally and wearing gear sent in by corporations, such as Chaos hats, all over the country.

Come and support this amazing non profit buy coming to the Chaos Booth #2423 at the SIA SnowShow January 31st-Feburary 3rd, 2013. Let’s continue to make a difference for kids by teaching important morals and helping them fall in love with the great outdoors.

“The Show was awesome! Tons of traffic and excitement, which we were really excited about. We’ll be back every year moving forward. We’ve gotten new business from being here, and as a launch year, it’s been absolutely great.”
Tracy Bordwell, Creative and Technical Design, Fate Clothing

"As a snow-sports journalist, I find the SIA Snow Show to be an invaluable resource. There's nowhere else I can survey all of the latest gear and get face time with interesting suppliers, retailers, athletes, and other industry movers all in one place."
Sam Bass, editor-in-chief, Skiing Magazine

“You have everyone in one place, so you can see everything you need and get an idea of where trends are going. It’s a good overview of what’s going on in the industry. Last year we picked up a couple new lines that I wouldn’t have necessarily picked up had I not gone to SIA. The Show gets you psyched.”
Jim Slanetz, Owner, Board Bin, ID

“From our standpoint, our line has gotten larger each year, and the exposure at the Show is huge. There are so many people here and this Show seems to grow every year, it’s really beneficial for our sales reps to be here.”
Carrie Crogan, Trade Show Coordinator, Under Armour
