2014 SIA Snow Show Wrap Up

The most snow sports industry buying power in one place.

“It’s the only place you get to see all the colors and meet the heads of the companies. If you go to other shows, you don’t get to meet with all those people. You’re talking face-to-face with people that you email and you get to see everything that you’re looking for. It makes the shopping easier for me.” – Pamela Alberino, Managing Member, New Canaan Ski & Sport, CT

“There’s so much to this experience: the networking, the press opportunities, as well as seeing the retailers. I also like to look at others companies’ booths, look at their products, and show them my products. The whole industry has benefitted by the nature of this Show – we’re colleagues, collaborators, and we’re allies. It’s a community, and we take a lot pride in our role within it. – Matt Sterbenz, Founder, 4FRNT

“Sales reps, marketing personal, sales management, product designers and company owners are all in one place and they are all there to work with the retailers. It’s a great opportunity and every retailer should take full advantage of it.” – Bob Gundram, President, C3 Worldwide – Capita, Coal, Union

“We see almost all of our accounts at SIA, at least 80-90% of the people we do business with are here and it’s the most impactful way for us to do our market. This is where we do almost all of our business and we couldn’t propel our brand without coming to the Show.” – Erin Isakov, Owner/Designer, Erin Snow

FEBRUARY 3 & 4, 2014

After the Show, the industry headed up to Copper Mountain for the national two-day On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest & Nordic Demo produced in partnership with CCSAA and in conjunction with the WWSRA Rocky Mountain Demo. Retailers and media tested out the latest gear and accessories for alpine, snowboard, AT, backcountry, cross country and snowshoe while the rest of the industry get to do what we do best – be on snow!

“The On-Snow Demo is critical to our business. There are different consumer desires and styles. If you don’t take the time to get on the equipment to test it, you’ll miss something. You can tell some things by technical data but proof is on the snow.”– Scott Ford, Buyer, Cole Sport, UT

“The Show was awesome! Tons of traffic and excitement, which we were really excited about. We’ll be back every year moving forward. We’ve gotten new business from being here, and as a launch year, it’s been absolutely great.”
Tracy Bordwell, Creative and Technical Design, Fate Clothing

"As a snow-sports journalist, I find the SIA Snow Show to be an invaluable resource. There's nowhere else I can survey all of the latest gear and get face time with interesting suppliers, retailers, athletes, and other industry movers all in one place."
Sam Bass, editor-in-chief, Skiing Magazine

“You have everyone in one place, so you can see everything you need and get an idea of where trends are going. It’s a good overview of what’s going on in the industry. Last year we picked up a couple new lines that I wouldn’t have necessarily picked up had I not gone to SIA. The Show gets you psyched.”
Jim Slanetz, Owner, Board Bin, ID

“From our standpoint, our line has gotten larger each year, and the exposure at the Show is huge. There are so many people here and this Show seems to grow every year, it’s really beneficial for our sales reps to be here.”
Carrie Crogan, Trade Show Coordinator, Under Armour
