SIA SNOW SHOW CLIFF NOTES
Seven Days Til We Hit Colorado - January 26-29, 2012

Denver is preparing for a snow sports invasion officially known as the 2012 SIA Snow Show, hitting the Colorado Convention Center next week. Nothing can match the energy of 20,000 attendees, 900+ brands, 3,340 booths, 114 new and returning exhibitors, and 96% of the supplier market share all gathered for the annual Snow Show and On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest (Jan. 30-31), which follows at Winter Park Resort and Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
“This year I'm especially looking forward to the sense of community. Everyone is feeling the bite across the country from the lack of initial snowfall. When we come together as an industry at SIA it serves as a reminder that we have survived this before and that one thing always remains constant, we can't control the weather. We all remember the bad seasons, but we can also look forward to recovery and growth as we have in the past.”- Susanne Dachgruber, Marketing Director, FLOW SPORTS INC
“The biggest thing that I get out of the Show that I can’t anywhere else, is the social interaction with the actual decision makers for the companies, from designers to presidents of the manufacturers. As a retailer, you really get the sense that they are listening to us and therefore listening to the consumer.”- John Sullivan, Owner, East Coast Alpine, MA

SIA SNOW SHOW AND ON-SNOW DEMO CHECK-IN WITH TYLER LAMOTTE OF PATAGONIA
SIA: What are some of the things you are most excited about seeing/doing at the Show/Demo?
Tyler: It’s exciting to interact with dealers, media and the trade with our new collections, especially this season as we debut our most comprehensive, athlete driven, performance Snow outerwear line ever.
SIA: Why do you come to the SIA Snow Show/On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest?
Tyler: The SIA Show is the ideal forum for the trade to interact with the Patagonia brand, see the new product collections in their entirety and help our dealer base finalize their order book for the season.
SIA: What can you only see/experience at the Show that you can’t anywhere else?
Tyler: SIA provides a pulse read on the state of the industry, product and brand trends for the coming season.
SIA: How and why should suppliers take ownership of the Show and Demo?
Tyler: From my POV, the Show has always been supplier driven. The demo is a great component that not only brings the Show on-snow but affords the opportunity for dealers to see and try before they solidify their buy.
