BACKCOUNTRY EXPERIENCE: DISPLAY YOUR BACKCOUNTRY GEAR
Deadline: November 30, 2012

After an overwhelmingly positive response from its debut, the Backcountry Experience exhibit will return to the 2013 Snow Show floor. Participation is free; space is limited so signup up now. The deadline to signup is November 30.

This exhibit highlights a collection of backcountry hardgoods and accessory products focusing on today’s variety of backcountry users in the marketplace.

Last year, the exhibit featured over 60 companies. We’ll use products and images to tell the visual and consumer story to both retailers and the media.

Today’s backcountry comes in many different shapes and sizes, with everything from lift-accessed sidecountry to multi-day ski mountaineering expeditions.

The BC Experience focuses on what it takes to outfit consumers with the best in backcountry hardgoods and accessories while delivering the “Must Know” of safety information and protocol.

"It's incredibly exciting to see the amount of growth that freeriding, backcountry and splitboarding are experiencing. Every season more and more riders are eager to push the traditional limits and explore deeper into the backcountry. Backcountry Experience will put the category front and center for the entire marketplace to see."  Jeremy Jones, owner of Jones Snowboards.

Backcountry Experience showcases categories:

  • Splitboards/Powder specific (boards, boots, bindings)
  • Freeride Side/Backcountry (skis, boots, AT bindings)
  • Backcountry Touring/Ski mountaineering (skis, boots, bindings, AT, Tele)
  • BC Accessories (beacons, poles, skins, ascension skis, ski crampons, probes, shovels, avalanche bags, packs, etc.)
  • Snow Safety/Education

We’ll end each day with a happy hour/safety seminar, live music and short films which focus on that one thing that makes each backcountry excursion a true experience….POWDER!

“Any shop that is serious about giving their customers the best gear for their needs must attend the SIA Nordic On-Snow Demo. How can you advise someone to buy a ski if you have no idea how it performs? The information gleaned from this event is invaluable.” Mick Dodds, The Ski Hut, Duluth, MN

Why is the Show important to the Nordic Community and why do you need to go?

  • Meet, ski and socialize with key principals of all the cross country ski companies. All major brands are here!
  • The Nordic Demo has more equipment, brands, models and sizes than any other demo in the country.
  • Key cross country clothing suppliers will also be in Denver including Arc’teryx, Bergen’s of Norway, Black Diamond, Eider, Helly Hansen, Kuhl, Mammut, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, Swix, The North Face, and others.
