Description: As a global leader in backcountry packs for over 20 years, Dakine debuts the new Poacher RAS series for Winter 2016/17. The collection includes three pack styles and a vest, each compatible with the new Mammut Removable Airbag 3.0 system (sold separately). The removable airbag system (RAS) easily fits in and out of the packs for different trips, terrains and seasons. Designed as a quiver for one, the new Poacher RAS 26L Pack (MSRP $225) boasts ample capacity in a compact profile for backcountry missions. Includes vertical snowboard carry or diagonal ski carry when hiking out of bounds, back panel zippered main compartment for quick access, and deployable helmet carry. Multiple interior and exterior pockets hold goggles, hydration system, snow tools and more. Additional features include quick draw ice axe loop, rescue whistle on sternum strap and breathable/padded hip belt and back panel for added comfort. The Women’s Poacher RAS 26L Pack (MSRP $200) includes all the above features while offering Dakine’s signature women’s specific fit to provide comfort without sacrificing performance. Designed with a shortened backpanel but with a wider base to maintain the same overall pack volume as the men’s versions. The new narrower shoulder width span, higher range sternum strap and S-curve strap shape allow for efficient load transfer and eliminates pressure points. Lastly, a narrower lumbar and canted waistbelt pulls the pack into narrower waists and wider hips. For an alternative to wearing a pack when hiking out of bounds, the new low profile Poacher RAS Vest (MSRP $185) evenly distributes weight of gear to better maintain the body’s center of gravity while providing plenty of room for carrying cargo. Featuring vertical snowboard carry and diagonal ski carry across the back, insulated hydro sleeve, six front access pockets (including beacon anchor), internal skins pocket and snow shovel/tool pocket on back. Also includes a mesh-lined interior to reduce added body heat build-up when hiking up, and internal web belt for customized fit. Additional packs include the Poacher RAS 46L Pack (MSRP $250) designed for guides, pros and patrollers and the Poacher RAS 36L Pack (MSRP $225) for all day backcountry touring. All models are DK Impact Spine Protector compatible (sold separately) - constructed of CE-certified 3D-molded low profile DK foam that is soft and flexible with shock absorption hardening on impact resulting in a comfortable, breathable and effective pad for added protection. The new Poacher RAS Series, along with the full Winter 2016/17 Dakine technical bag collection, will be available at select retailers and online at dakine.com in September 2016.

"The SIA Snow Show is the best time of the year! You get to see all the new technology coming out, you get to see all the sales reps you have relationships with, and then right around the corner you get to test everything out at the On-Snow Demo at Copper." Katy Graul, Ski Brokers, Fraser, CO
"For me, the Show is so much more than just a product presentation, it's a true breeding ground for ideas and inspiration. The forums, the marketing information, and the opportunities for retailers like me to network with each other has become a major feature for me." Teddy Schiavoni, Summit Ski Shop, Framingham, MA
"It's the place to go to see as many manufacturing companies as you can see under one roof at one time. It’s the latest and greatest of everything that’s going to be coming through the stores in the next six to eight months. I think people do a disservice to themselves by not going." Susan Woody, sales rep, Turtle Fur
"This Show is so important because it's the preview for what’s to come; it's the big picture. You can talk to the people that are in sales, product development, we can tell you plans for next year as well as help retailers with their buy so they become informed and make better decisions for their business." Ryan Green, Nordic Division Manager, Rossignol
"From an international perspective, I can see that the whole US snow sports industry is truly a community. Everybody's here and you can see that it's a family." Sigi Rumphuber, Product Designer/Engineer, G3
"This whole business is based on relationships, so if you don’t get that face to face time it's difficult to continue those relationships or build new ones. And of course we have to be at the Show because it gives a chance for everyone to see the full line, and to talk about any problems or potential opportunities." Josh Roberts, VP, Nitro Snowboards
