As the snow kept falling, sales kept growing at retail and Nordic equipment sales finished the season up 15% in units and 14% in dollars with a total of $40.5 million in retail sales (US). Nordic had a good season in 2012/2013 bringing out 3.3M participants to the trails, 2013/2014 participation numbers will be released later this summer

SIA has made Nordic the cornerstone of its WinterTrails, a consumer program designed to grow participation. Winter Trails introduces new participants to snowshoeing and cross country at over 100 sites throughout the US.
